SRAM has released the new Eagle GX group, which the American brand has upgraded with significant innovations to make it a benchmark in the mid-to-high range. The standout feature is the new 10-52 tooth cassette. The arrival of the SRAM GX represents a substantial quality leap from the previous GX model, with only the Trigger shifters remaining largely unchanged, though they have been updated aesthetically. The design now features more organic shapes and includes the new Lunar color inherited from the AXS Eagle, which extends across the entire group, including cranks, derailleur, and the 52-tooth chainring. The X-Sync 2 chainring’s outer teeth now come in aluminum color to prevent uneven wear from creating color discrepancies. The derailleur, equipped with a stronger spring, performs its job effectively, and all pivot points are more robust. The Cage Lock feature is retained for easier wheel removal.
The cassette introduces Full Pin technology, where small stainless steel pins connect the various cogs, resembling the X-Dome design found in higher-end cassettes. All cogs are black, except for the 52-tooth cog, which matches the color of the cranks, shifters, and derailleur—echoing the successful AXS wireless group in its XO1 and XX1 finishes.
